I'd just do the bear minimum with this engine, especially if you're planning to rebuild your other engine. Even if you're bottom end is worn,
it should hold up for a while. Just keep the oil and coolant clean and level. I like using Valvoline 20w-50 in older motors. It's actually slowed oil consumption considerably on a few cars I've owned.
