I've seen lots of cars with bigger diameter tubing, which really hurts the low and mid range powerband, without really enhancing the top end.
Just my thoughts anyway.

: I am getting a new exhaust system put on Tuesday by a local Muffler Guru in San Diego, Ed Hanson. He wants to cut the old system out and from the downpipe put 2 1/2 inch pipe to a 28" glasspack (racing) then neck down to 2 1/4 inch pipe to a round turbo muffler in the original place and exit in the middle like stock (76) with whatever tip I want. Thinking of a larger round or square with inward rolled edges.
: Does this sound good? Some have said to leave in the stock resonator and just go from the resonator back. It is said that I won't gain anything by changing this out. Money is not the real object here, but I do want a good system that will be ready in the years ahead for more modifications (as smog abates). I have 40 DCOE webers on the bench but am now running a weber 32/36 and 284 cam rest is stock.
: Any comments.
: Thanks
