Stange Speedo after 5 speed swap ? (archive)

I just completed my 5 speed swap this weekend into an auto 02. I had agreat time shifting gears through the twisties today. I really didn't mind the strange speedo action as I was up and down shifting away, but, i will be needing it soon to avoid a few tickets. The sympoms: Says 40 mph at rest(engine off). May bouce around from zero to 80 with the engine idling. While driving bounces from 70 to 120. The speedo worked great with the old auto trans. What is the culprit here? and what is the solution?
