I can go into great detail of the horror stories, costs & aggravation of useing a standard auto-shipping outfit, but I'll save that for if you're really interested in them.
I have shipped 2 beautiful cars (a '75 '02 & a '67 MGB) cross country & Horseless Carriage delivers the car in a closed 18-wheeler. They take about a week to deliver it & the cars arrive in the same condition from when you saw them put it in the truck. They normally ship exotic cars & you'll probably see a Ferrari or two on the truck, as well.
The cost is about $1500, but, I must say, it is well worth the cost if you're concerned w/ the condition of the car.
