: ON MY '74, THERE ARE THESE PLATES THAT SIT ON TOP FENDERS ABOVE THE STRUT TOWERS. DON'T CAMBER PLATES USUALLY GO BENEATH THE FENDERS? IF THEY'RE NOT CAMBER PLATES, THAN WHAT?

Those were spacers on 74+ ,to lift the car for
the big bumbers. (nearly ½in. thick)

Why they end out on top of the fender?
I guess cause the bolts from the top bearings are
longuer , and it's to fill the space.

Or to hide a rusty spot on the top of the strut.

Anyway I cannot see any practical use for that
practice except to store them in a place you can
mist.
I would worry for the fact that they are in alu-
minium, and seem to seat not perfectly flat, and
I wouldn't like to put more flex on the frt strut

Camber plates, ( the cheapo one) are simply a
round piece of alu with an obcentric hole , so
looking at the top of the strut you would see
more alu on one side of the hole than on the
other.
