Hi all,

I have been lurking on this forum for about a month while I was searching out my very first BMW and my first 2002. I previously have been a regular forum user for many years for VW's, Audis and even Formula Fords, but I have never seen a forum with more intelligently conveyed information. The level of this board is such a refreshing break from the "my car is faster than your car" syndrome found just about everywhere else on the internet. I am really happy to be here, too, even though I am a founding member of the VWvortex forums, and am really much more comfortable with the UBB style. The information is well worth the effort.

So I have finally made a purchase of a really clean (albeit repainted) bright green '73 2002 and I am a really happy camper. I have been going through the car looking for all of the little things that need to be fixed. There are a lot of things, but none of them very major in the least.

One thing that is bothering me, though is the front ride height. The front end is in serious need of a re-alignment, and that will be taken care of this coming week. I'm trying to figure out what might be causing the ride height in the front to be so unusually tall. What should I be looking for? I think I will be replacing the shocks and springs just to be sure, and I do want a nice lowered stacnce all around. Does anyone have any spring suggestions? Eibach, H&R, Suspension Techniques?

The next change after that will be the tires and wheels. I will be putting a set of 14" Panasports on the car as soon as the budget allows. What is the best size and offset for the wheels and what size tires will fit those wheels?

Yeah, a lot of questions at once, but like I said, I have ben a lurker for some time, and there is a lot of stuff running through my head now that I finally have the car.

Thanks all,

doug
