John,
Top end performance speaks about kits but the price they mention is around 3 grand?! This would include crank fire ignition, and fully programable, closed loop ignition. When I swaped in the 320i motor this jan, I kept all the manifolds; "just in case..." I would love to think there is a cheaper way. Keep us posted on what you find out.

: Got this 67 1600 running good (but still needs some paint soon) and it is my daily driver. It is all stock and, the engine was freshly rebuilt. Regularly asparated (single barrel solex). Stock cam. Stock head.

: I want to fuel inject it with a SDS 'F' type system. Distributor-less ignition. Fully programable.

: I would be happy with an extra 20hp over stock. I think with this system I may relize a little more..

: I need to 'list' the various projects involved with this conversion.

: 1.Fuel tank/fuel pumps/lines.

: 2.manifold/fuel rail/injectors

: 3.crank pulley machining/fit for sensors.

: Has anybody tried this on a 1600 engine?

: Thanks for your help.

: I know I should get her painted but, I jus' want to do this 'tweak', then I will be ready for cosmetic work..

: I hate neat looking, fresh, clean, cars. I'll take that runs perfect.

: I tend to kill mosquitos with sledge hammers. So, the 318 injection system swap is out, unless sombody can convince me otherwise..

: Dream a little..
