I was driving the car to school just now and I was stopped for a train and I gasped when I looked at my heat gauge and it was touching the red! Yesterday the car was normal operating temp at an idle, I turned on the heat and the heat wouldnt get hot...hmmm, just kept blowing cold air..then I drive it a little and the air warms up. I have never seen the car get this hot. So anyway today again I stopped at school and touched the radiator which wasnt hot, I touched the valve cover and man that thing was cookin. Then it seems like it cools down super fast if I shut off the engine, but then it heats up super fast(like under 2 mins) if I start it again. I'm afraid to even try to drive it home. Is there a way I can manually open the thermostat?? Sound like a thermostat problem?? Easy to fix I think??(ps radiator was recored last summer.
Thanks guys and gals
Nathan
