In Reply to: Help, I think i have a bad thermostat..please read posted by nathan on April 24, 2000 at 12:08:43:

Yes, when it cooled down I checked the radiator, and it was SUPER low, I mean it took almost a half gallon of the green juice of life. I was shocked. Now I guess I have to do a pressure check to see where all of the life blood is going to. I'll have to keep an eye on the level and the needle. What can I say, I'm new to the 2002 world(and mechanics in general) and now I learned that when your heater is not working the piping systems are generally on top of the radiator and that means its low. Is there a way to check the system on a warm engine, or will it steam and shoot all over the place when I take the cap off(like say with a couple of towels over it to save my hand??
thanks again,
