The 32/36 or 38/38 will accept the weber stock air cleaner adapter. The 40/40 will not. This may be important if you are trying to keep a stock appearance, gas fumes to a minimum, or carb suction noise down. I asked Metric Mechanic several years ago (their catalog does not appear to have changed) about an adapter and they gave me the go around. If they treat their customers like that, I can understand why they get a bad rap. You will encounter more 38/38 than 40/40s in 02s but both either should work good. The 32/36 is a rolex compared to the two barrel solex.
