My question is because the motor is under strain when in drive and you have the brakes on at at stop light. Maybe the Oil Pump is not running as fast as it should or wants. When you shift to neutral this frees up crank (removes the stress) and the oil chain & pump to run smoother. I don't know just a though.

: I have many problems with my 74 2002A, many of them probably rather serious. But I have no money and it is my only car, so I have jut been putting them off. My problem is this:

: I have gas leaking into my crankcase. One mechanic told me it could be a gasket, seal, etc. from my fuel pump, so I disconnected that and am running on nothing but an electric fuel pump. Well, the only really bad result i ever get is after 4-6 weeks after changing my oil, the oil light would come on when the car was hot and in drive (AUTOMATIC) and i was at a stop light waiting for the light. I could put the car in neutral or park and the engine would jump 300 revs or so and the light would go out. Usually, I would just change the oil as it was too watered down with gasoline. I changed the oil on Saturday, but this morning driving to work I still had the oil light come on when the car was hot when i was at a stop light with the car in drive.

: Any cheap, free, easy suggestions. (sorry so long of a Q)
