: I've had a '72 2002 sitting in the garage for many years now and I want to get it in running condition again. The only thing that really needs redoing before it's driveable is the interior. The black vinyl seats are ripped and cracked everywhere from too much sun. This includes the front seats as well as the back. I'm not sure whether I should try and do the upholstering myself or buy some used seats. The vinyl is in terrible condition and should probably be thrown out and I'd rather not have to mess with the stuff underneath. What is the best thing to do?

I just re-uplolstered my front seats and headrests, rear seat and seat back. This included new padding (not original). I used black vinyl and cloth in the seat area. Cost me $400. Shop around, if you can live without original then you can save some money and it will still look good. I also found some 320is Recaro seats from a guy up the street in good condition for $350 for my other 2002. Check some pic a parts for these seats, you might get lucky.
