I'm in need of some help. This afternoon, I dropped my new/old '73 off to have the front end aligned, to try to eliminate some of the steering problems and shake that I have experienced since I picked up the car last week.
I got a call from the shop saying that they aligned what they could, but could not move the heim joints from the threaded sleeve/tie rod. Thus, the steering alignment could not be made. This is a problem, as I think the car has some pronounced toe-out right now. I have determined that I want to replace both tie rods and the rod ends completely to avoid any future problems. Now what? Who carries these pieces? Should I replace anything else at the same time? Could something else be causing the front end shake that I may be overlooking?
Funny how one problem creates more.
Any experiences would be greatly appreciated.
