Hi,
there are several springs on the gas pedal.
the first is on the arm that sticks out from the
foot pedal box and is rapped around the shaft
that comes thru the side wall of the box.
the next is on the throttle rod at the top of
the long rod and connects to the fire wall.
the next is on the carb on the back side
facing the fire wall ,this one is small.
if the pedal does not return freely then remove
the shaft from the box and remove the bushings
that it rides in and derust everything then
over grease everything then reassemble.
its not tough just a long job. good luck
e-mail me for help.
