First, you have to take off all the trim yourself, all lights, everything you can get off the car including bumpers. Preferably glass too if you can.

You can do some prep if you know what you are doing, but if not, let them do it.

You will get a good DRIVER quality paint job. You have to remember that 400 - 600 will get a driver job. Add a zero and you can get a show quality job. I would venture to say only a small percentage of the readers of this board have spent four grand on their paint. Mine was 600 and I did all the above.

While Maaco has the car, go over every piece you took off the car and massage the hell out of it. Clean and polish--polish and clean. I put new beltline trim and roundels on the car which made a big difference. It takes two days to take all the stuff off. Plan on two weeks to CAREFULLY put everything back on.

If you expect Maaco to do this for 400, you are crazy. They will mask everything and spray it. Under all that trim is a TON of dirt and rust you can't see. Got to get that out of there!

You can get the car very presentable for your 400-600 but you have to do have the work.
