I have questions concerning assembly of the bottom end and am listening for the voice of experience here,
-Should I check clearences in the bearings with plastiguage or assume that machine shop eyed this enough when they polished it?
-Should I take the piston rings off their pistons and measure their clearances while in the block?
-Should I have the connecting rods checked over? I had no knocking problems prior to disassembly.
I plan to use an assembling paste and a lot of castrol, as well as all new timing and oiling components.
