In Reply to: HELP! Will a 121 head with 72 stamp work on a 76?! posted by Blue PISSED OFF 02 on April 29, 2000 at 15:03:34:

How can a set of sidedrafts (even if incorrectly tuned) cause your compression to go to hell? in my mind, that makes absolutely no sense at all. Am curious to know why you're suddenly having these problems.

I'm confused on that front. Maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Also, from what I've read, while providing higher compression, the 121s don't flow as well as the e12s/e21s - bigger valves in the later heads, if I remember right, and the sheer fact that it's a cleaner burning design, from what I've read. Personally, I'd just stick with the higher compression pistons and the '76's head (whatever's appropriate for the head - I think euro 320 pistons work on an e21 head - 9:1, maybe?).

Just my humble opinion, and what I can remember at the moment. Subject to interpretation :)

Hope it all works out ok.

Sam
