: PO allowed a few drops of tree sap to drop on my car and dry on the paint. now it's hardened. tried pretty much everything i can lay my hands on. still a no-go. any suggestions on something that may take it off without destroying the paint. unfortunately it's right on the hood.
: TIA, tim 72tiiTry WD-40 it wont hurt the paint; and its a mild solvent so it works pretty good for stuff like that.
There are also citrus based sap and bug removers that work well too. (old detailing tricks)
If you are VERY VERY careful you can use a single edge razor blade to get things like that off but I dont reccomend that if you havent done it on something else first.
Hold it really flat on the surface and only cut into the sap ; it shaves it right off.
hope this helps,Brian
