Hi All
I'm having a seemingly never ending saga with my 74tii:
The problem is that whilst driving at low revs, ie. up to 3k, the engine is REALLY spluttering, coughing (not really backfiring, but seems similar), surging, almost as if its about to run out of fuel. Once the revs pick up above 3k it smooths out almost instantaniously, and flies like it should - I've recently (2k km ago) had a complete rebuild - top end machined, resleeved, reseated, bottom end bored out, new pistons (.5mm os mahle), new bottom end bearings etc. 20k km ago had new bosch fuel pump put on (but I've always queried whether it should make as loud a whirring noise as it does, more noticeable when warm), have had injectors professionally cleaned, fairly certain that the injection pump linkages are set correctly, the fuel filter is o.k, electrical system has been overhauled - just had dizzie rebuilt, rebushed, new points, new plugs, leads, timing stays where it should be.
As you can see I must be running out of things to replace (and running out of money to replace them!!). All the work has been done by a reliable 02 mech, but he is completely stumped as to what the cause is - he thinks it feels like an elec. problem, but has gone over that, and found nothing wrong. I see in the Haines manual the closest symptom description is put down to injection pump/throttle valve problems.
Any comments would be GREATLY appreciated.
Cheers Oliver

P.S I'm yet to check the flow rate of the fuel pump, can someone please remind me of what the vol/sec should be, and how to go about it - (I'll check the archives)?
