Std motor probably will not make full use of carb potential but will breath better with right setup.
Blue coil fine. Remember to remove ballast resistor as it is designed to run with out. Also if your coil if fitted with a bypass from the sarter motor during cranking - disconnect it as it is no longer any use when you take out the ballast resist.
Ups and downs to having no vacuum on the distributor - see archives - but any distr in good shape is better than a worn out one!
