73 Grill holes? Pic attacted. Ideas? (archive)

It's a Euro 73 late production model. Square tail lense rear -mixed features. The 74-76 grills don't line up on the bottom. Note the offset of the two lower mounts.
Could this be a Euro 73 only grill setup? Hope someone can help me solve this mystery!

How do the 72-73 metal front grills line up? Could be an updated add-on.

Can't see any evidence of any sheetmetal work done front or rear. Very clean rust-free, low kilometer, two owner car.
