Go to a real auto parts store and ask for a bearing race and seal driver made by Lisle. Also available mail order from A & I Supply, 1-800-260-2647 for $25.47. Get their catalog for a lot of great tools at good prices.

The tool is a handle with 6 interchangeable disc that you use to drive races or seals in place. While you can still screw up installation, it happens less!

To get the old race out, I just use a regular punch and tap around the rear edge to work it out. Just try not to hit the surface the race fits against.
