If the manifold is off and the bolts are stuck to the head itself, you can put on 2 or 3 nuts, tighten them to each other and turn the one closest to the head to get the stud out. If this won't work then you are stuck with using a small pipe wrench or chain wrench. If you have to use the wrench, be careful not to score the mating surface of the manifold. Wouldn't want a leak when you are done.

: ....so, that got your attention. But, seriously though, lets get down to the real studs on this board, the exhaust manifold studs. How the hell do you remove these things? Heat the manifold and then try to unscrew them? Drill them out? thanks for the help, studs ;-) jenny
