the one on the flywheel is a ball bearing pressed into the metal. I've had succcess sticking the eraser end of a pencil lightly into the hole, just touching the spinning flywheel. Once you've located it, clean it up bright and shiny, make a white mark beside it, and you're all set. #1 cylinder is what you want for the timing light.
