Have a friend who wrenches on a '64 Elva race car with a 2002 engine - huge headers, valves, full race everything, 100+ octane race fuel...and 45DCOEs.

Engine was recently rebuilt, dyno guy says that 45s are usually too big for even a full race setup 2002 engine, but in this case everything was right and the engine was putting out 225hp and still going at redline.

My message is, 45s are probably WAY too big for a stock engine. I recently came across a set of 40's attached to what is supposed to be a just ported and polished head with headers, but don't what the lower end is, except worn out. Some day I'll look into MAYBE putting them on mine or overhauling that engine.

Good luck

(you should see what a 225hp 2002 engine does in a car that is 3 feet tall and weighs about 1100 pounds!)
