I've found a car that is incredibly clean, super original, with only 89K original miles. Its a 76 which the seller is the second owner. The first owner (all but 2 years of its life) apparently put a lot of money and care into the car. Its super straight, paint is good except one small hood dent, rust free and has Baer AC. Carb is a Weber. All the smog crap etc is there. The engine bay looks completely stock. The seats, interior, headliner, door panels are very nice with no tears but a slightly grungy. The dash is absolutely perfect. The engine sounds and looks great. The wheel look like new 320i wheels I'd guess.
NOW THE BAD. Its an Automatic. And its dead in all forward gears. Only Reverse and Park are ok. Forward is as if its in neutral. So heres the deal. I think its an ideal car for a 5-speed conversion and best of all, despite the great condition otherwise, its cheap. Really cheap. Its also close enough to tow home via AAA for near nothing. So I'm going to see it better in full sun tomorrow and give the engine a compression and oil pressure test.

Question: What compression pressures do I want to see to call it a good engine. What figure is too low?
What oil pressure number do I want to see at idle and 3-4K RPM.
If the engine is good, I think its a winner for me.
