Gearshift Rebuilding (archive)

I ripped the shift system out of my '75 and have started cleaning and rebuilding it. Hopefully this will improve the shift feel. Does anyone have any tips on what to do, to do this correctly? I replaced the ball / bushing and the shift rod / bushing. What should I lubricated these bushings with before putting them back in? Any tips would be appreciated.
