-Robert S. who will be pulling (dropping?) his own 4box which grinds BOTH second and third gears. How much does it cost to rebuild a 4-speed? I have seen used ones for $75 but you never know whether the "new" one is going to be any better than the one you're replacing...

Maybe I'll just wait until the small six/fivespeed conversion goes in...

: Try as I might, I can't get the auto box out of the tunnel. Seems like the engine won't tilt back enough because the top of the bell housing is stuck up against the top of the tunnel nearest the starter area. Everything else is off the trans including the rear mount, but the engine doesn't seem to want to tilt back. The distributor is near the firewall but not touching it. Nothing appears to be pinched at the rear of the engine. Any ideas?
