Put a jack under the front of the oil pan (use a block of wood between) and jack up the front of the engine which will lower the rear. Remove your distributor first. I had a real tough time getting the 5 speed in, for the same clearance problems. Oh by the way remember to remove the bolts from the flywheel to torque converter. Peter
