It is with a heavy heart that I put the 2002 up for sale, but I can no longer devote her the attention she deserves. I have owned the car for 3 years and put thousands into her to bring her back from neglect. First the good points. The car has a 5 speed tranny from a 81 320is installed along with the limited slip differential from the same car. The car has the sport steering wheel from the 320is. All of the suspension bushings have been replaced including upper strut bearings, lower balls and control arm bushings, front and rear. Rear trailing arms have been boxed -tii style, and front lower control arms have been reinforced with extra metal. Rear subframe bushings have also been replaced. This car came with a Behr AC unit. The original york compressor has been replaced with a Bosch from a 325. I had new ac hoses made last summer. The underdash ac unit is currently out of the car pending a restoration which was to take place this past winter but never materialized. The car has been fitted with a pinto radiator to handle the extra load of the AC, and North Carolina summers. The car is fitted with a weber 32/36 DGV carb.
The car has also been fitted with big brakes all around. Vented 320 disks in front with Volvo monster calipers. Rear has 320I large drums. Brand new 5 series master cylinder. The car has 325I bottlecap alloy wheels and Goodyear Eagle GT tires in good condition.
The car has blue leather seats from a m3, early 1990s, I think.
Many boxes of spare parts come with the car, including an extra 320I cylinder head, an uncracked 2002 dashboard, and a rebuildable 2002 shortblock. Also included is a spare windsheild and new ws gasket.
The bad points of the car are: The 320I motor in it is shot. It runs but needs a rebuild.
The 320I motor has a freshly rebuilt 121 head on it which could be put on a shortblock.
The rust on the car is as follows- slight preforation in the rocker panels, and in the front wings. Holes in spare tire well have been welded up. No shock tower rust. No frame rail rust. Trim holes have been welded up for aerodynamic and rust prevention reasons. Car needs a paint job. Original color is white. Also included is a 2 volume set of original factory shop manuals, and a tii distributor, among other odds and ends.
I am located in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Price is $1,500.
Serious inquiries, as well as non-serious are welcomed.
