: Rob, just be carefull, one of those studs taps into an oil gallery and to much loctite may plug the gallery or just as bad if the stud falls out, you may have no oil going to many parts of the engine. The latter cost me an engine. Some dummy(me) didnt realize the oil sending unit was shot and didnt realize oil was pouring out of the stud hole until the engine seized. Damn road trips anyway.

: di : after putting in new exhaust studs, bolts and gasket onto my head and tightening down the bolts, it's looking like cyls. #2 & 3 are leaking through those top bolts and it's getting down onto the exhaust and smoking.
: : i didn't want to tighten the studs too far into the head as they seemed to just keep going. so i put some locktite on them cranked them in w/ two nuts on them and let them sit in there for about 3-4 hours before i tightened the exhaust maniforld. (the studs i got are a continous thread, NOT the kind with an unthreaded portion near the center). any ideas/suggestions?
: : thanks,
