spark plug removal (archive)

hi guys!

i was trying to remove my plugs for tune up purposes but no matter how much i tried wrenching on the ratchet i couldn't budge the plug!

i'm using a 13/16 spark plug socket with a 3/8" drive ratchet.

i don't know if it's cuz i don't have the leverage or the wrong size drive but it's been frustrating! and no mechanic at a gas station has been samaratin enough to just loosen the plugs for me! one numb nut was even charging me $20 bux!

any advise please.....
