anyone ever seen motorola ignition on an 02? (archive)

Getting a parts car that has a motorola ignition box in the car up next to the front headlight, can't tell yet as I haven't looked hard enough but it seems to connect to maybe the lights and ignition, any ideas what the hell this is and if it is worth anything, useful? By the way, how can I tell if tie rods on a parts car are any good for use on my car or should I just buy new ones?
