: : The "flex disc", "guibo", is the rubber dampner that mounts between the output shaft of the transmission (manual and auto) and the driveshaft. The clutch disc is the asbestos-like disc that's between the flywheel and pressure plate.

The flexplate is what is on an automatic car instead of a flywheel,the flex disc (somtiems referred to as a "guibo" joint) goes behind the trans at the leading end of the driveshaft or propeller shaft.
The clutch (or friction) disc goes between the flwheel and the pressure plate on a manual trans car.
