Unfortunately, the '02 speedometer is not the most accurate thing. At 4000 rpm with a 3.64:1 differential, you should be at 76 mph with stock diameter tires. With a 3.90:1, it's 71 mph.

The easiest way to tell is to jack up the rear of the car and put it on jackstands. Then rotate the driveshaft 4 times. If the rear wheel rotates 4 times, then it's a 3.90 rearing. 3.5 times, it's a 3.64.

Somewhere in it's lifetime, a PO may have swapped your differntial.
