A couple months ago I brought this guy Paul w/a homebrew turbo 320 over from the 320 board to tell us all he knows about turbocharging our engines. He runs an SDS, 13psi boost, and claims 230-250 hp. Hopefully you can find the discussion and it will tell you what you need to know.

As for manifolds, he uses a 318 exhaust manifold flipped upside down with a short adapter pipe having a flange to mate with the manifold on one side and flange to mate with the turbo on the other. Unlike the 2002 manifold, the 318 (and possibly later 320s) exits near the center of the manifold, and is vertically compact. They should be available from your local pick-a-part for about $25. Also, a full service exhaust shop could build you a manifold for a few hundred dollars.

: I am beginning to think twice about my leanings toward supercharging my 2002. So, I'd like to hear about people who have turbo'd and intercooled a 2002. Also, what are good sources of manifolds/etc. The goal is to produce a car with as much low-end torque as possible.
