Jeff, I recently went through the same dilemma.
Emissions are expensive to repair.I spent $75 on the braided steel tube and pipe and was quoted $190 for a new egr valve.I've got two early series manifolds if you want one.I'd take $45 plus freight. How much of your system is still left?Do you have original carb?You'll have to modify a few
vacuumm lines if so.
