: Just had car paint and now need to replace old trunk gasket. The question is - do you split the gasket to get it around the brackets holding the trunk-lid up, or do you take off the trunk-lid and keep the solid piece of gasket in tack?? Any help or suggestions appreciated - thanks.

Most trunk seals that i can remember have a separation right in the middle in the back by the latch.
Sort of nice having no separation though if you wanted to go to the hassle of removing the trunk lid.
good luck, Brian
