: How hard is it to re-synchro a four speed tranny? My resto budget is currently being absorbed by my suspension/steering rebuild, in which i am thinking of including some new tii struts and a full brake upgrade (lots o $$). So anyways, my existing 31-year old tranny grinds both second and third gears, but is otherwise fine. Has anybody changed synchros on a four speed with success?? Any sources for gaskets/synchros/ other bits?
: Also, when I do install a fiver, i was thinking of redoing those synchros before installing it so that the fiver will last me. Im building this car to last another 31 years.
: BTW, archives had limited info here...
Other than knowing it can be done with little trouble - so they say - I cannot offer any help. BUT...... Somewhere there was talk of obtaining Porsche 924 synchros?!?!?! Much tighter and more durable...
Anyone with some help on that topic????
Thnaks,
Edward
P.S. Dan Martin - Didn't you tackle this feat? (The replacement of synchros in a 4-Spd?)
