my question still stands: other than the dealer (?), where can i get synchros/gasket kits/ etc.?

you can get the seals from any BMW shop, i.e. Ireland, etc. In my limited experience, I believe in getting OE quality seals. Before you try to use some dimensionally spec'd seal made by who knows who, I'd suggest sitting it next to the OE stuff and comparing. Tried to use an aftermarket in a Volvo once - after destroying 4 cheap aftermarket seals, broke down and ordered from dealer - dealer part was sucked into place without incident.

There are no gaskets in the tranny (at least not between the cases). Wurth makes some light green stuff which is as close to a sealer for that type of fit that you can find.

Synchros?? Try an '02 shop like Max.

hth,
