Believe the 008 curve is slightly different, but all mechanicals are essentially the same. Max advance for both is 32 deg. The 008 was original on my car so that's what I wanted to put back on. All Bosch replacement mech advance distributors I've seen are 002, but the important factor is how it was curved at the factory.
