: I also called a party selling a 72 tii in the SF area for $9,850. He said the car was stock except for 320is Recaros and that he had already sold the car for the asking price.

Am I the only one who sees the end of the cheap 02? These cars, Tii and the standard series, are going nowhere but up in price. For all the people who immediately carp, no way, don't pay more than $1500 (or whatever) can we put a "claimer" on your car--you say no way and I can claim you car for the "no way" price. Sounds fair to me. I'll bet there are not many people who are ready to sell their pride and joy for the low prices they proclaim to be a "fair" value for the car.

I admit I would not buy a car with rust for much money, but the solid California car is a different animal and they will dry up soon.

Just my "humble" opinion.
