If you have a street car, tune for torque and midrange punch. If you have a track car, high-end HP will (almost) always win. Although having both is nice too. Just ask the French ORECA team that is breaking track records left and right with the big Viper V10s

: Milton,

: Yes but. Momentum tracks, regardless of length, put a premium on torque over a fair rpm range, especially in traffic. Get out of the gas, 'cause ya gotta not 'cause ya wanta, and its tough to get the rpm back without torque. Witness the Integras vs the 328is cars that run in the touring car series in the US.

: I am an autocrosser myself, but the same applies. Get "a little behind on my steering" and have to lift on a momentum part of the course, and that's when the cursing starts, and the wishing that I had more cylinders.
