???? about box flares - your experience please (archive)

I'm about to add some box flares to the car I'm building for (she doesn't know it yet) the wife. What has anyone learned about install, painting, mounting, etc on these? (they are fglass)
Your experiences/suggestions/comments/mistakes (non aesthetic) greatly appreciated. Oh, okay comments on "looks" too. TIA!

ps - if I tell her now, she'd change her mind 62 times about the final color, anguish over carpet samples, upholstery piping, etc, etc and wonder why its not done in 7 days.
