Hi Dan,

Looks like we have alot in common with our Bimmers. To answer your question, "sort of"...I definitely had a vacuum leak at one point, then a carb problem, now it still misses however...but runs better! The problem is pointing to a worn distributor shaft or vacuum advance mechanism.

That makes alot of sense because I had a horrible time attemtping to set the dwell and the timing...the steel ball jumped around too much to suit me...I am trying to find another distributor currently. I plan to go with a pre-74 unit due to my '76 being "desmogged"...the more advance, the better.

Please let me know how you make out as well!
