From my experience with a 32/36 on my 75, it sounds like you may be running rich at idle. There is a screw at the base of the carb towards the passenger cabin. Try turning this in (note the position before changing it) and lean out the mixture (in=lean, out=rich), and see if this helps. If it starts to get rough, back out the screw and isten to your idle, and it should get smoother as you get close to proper idle mixture.

Also, if the comression is too low on the one cylinder, you may not be getting a clean burn (if at all), so you could be getting smelly exhaust from that as well.

Hi:
it's a '76A, about to be ready to pass safety inspection. running OK. rough idle, since it's not registered, can't tell much else about how the 32/36 is doing. but i do know that when i run it in the driveway, if i leave the window to the house opem, my wife complains about the smell. it reminds me of how a boat motor exhaust smells. no smoke (to speak of) and it starts right up. low compression in #3 (like 90 verses 125 in the others) wet & dry.
Any ideas of what's going on?
TIA!

If I could get a title, we'd have another one back on the streets!
