If all the parts are there, you cannot lose money.
If you determine the rust to be far to extensive, the parts alone are worth the coin.
-the powerplant is most likley the euro only 2.0,
this motor uses high compression (10.5:1) raised bathtub style pistons. It should also hold a #2 cam, this I think is like 292.
it has the 121ti head (smaller chambers)
If it has the dual-sidedraft 40phh carbs in good order (with air-filter assembly) it is sellable.
The motor is a nice upgrade from a regular '02 mill.
Those nifty rear tail-lights, complete and in good shape, are worth $300 each to an e9 coupe owner. The bumpers & chrome trim in good shape, $500-1000. The wood dash, good condition, maybe up to $500.
They also came with bilstien h/d shock & struts.
Quite a bit of parts interchange to the 2002.
So just for the spares alone, gearbox, d-shaft, diff., brakes, electrical.
If the car is drivable with minimal cash outlay and just some personal labor, it is a good opportunity.
