Finally getting to the exterior clean up stage of my car, following 5-speed conversion, carb work, radiator recore, exhaust and oil leaks, ball joints, suspension bushings etc etc. The paint is pretty good but have some stubburn dots I can't seem to get rid of. Seems to be only on the horizontal flat surfaces (i.e. hood) I can't feel them by touching but I'm guessing its from long ago tree sap droppings but can't be sure. There are 50 or so on the hood and about 3/16" in diameter. Basically a stain rather than destroyed rough paint. I've tried Mcquires Cleaner/wax and a new to me Mcquires Body scrub. Neither had much effect despite elbow grease. The remaining paint comes up nice, but the spots remain nearly unchanged. Any suggestions? Peter S
