What size is the nut holding the center bearing in place on a non-sliding propeller shaft? (This is the 12-sided "dodecagon" nut, PN 26 11 1 101 782). Thanks--Fred, 73 tii

My weapon of choice is a 15/16" box wrench.[ground down as needed] Same size as a 24 mm wrench. I don't recommend using the open end at all. I take a scrap of metal to use as a shield and insert in the opening to protect the u-joint from heat and very carefully heat the outer edges of the nut before I try and break it loose due to many years of blue loctite holding it on. Reassemble it with a couple drops of blue loctite and if there is any play on the splines a couple drops there after cleaning thoroughly helps and most important , PAINT A STRIPE MARKING THE FRONT AND REAR DRIVESHAFT HALVES AND PUT IT BACK EXACTLY WHERE IT WAS!
