in the front around the edges- I just had a repaint and I know a guy with a perfect 71 bumper complete I just want to make sure it will clear and not hit at the corners where it wraps around-Thanks a lot for your help.

Yes it will! Here's Dave's tip for putting it on without damage. First put the rubber grommets on the nose, then install the bumper brackets with out the bumper on them. Tighten the bolts lightly. Put duct tape around the rear edges of the bumper where it will be close to the fenders. Mount the 3 pieces together but leave the carriage bolts loose enough so you can flex the bumper a little. Have a friend hold one end while you attach your side. Install the end bolts with rubber spacers and start adjusting and tightening everything and then smile! O==00==O.
The holes for the '71 bumper are further back on the fender than those on the '73 DOT bumpers. You will need to redrill another set of holes further back on the fender towards the lip to properly align the '73 hole with the '71 bumper.
Also most '71 bumpers did not use the rubber guard strip and the '73's did. They won't match.
